KISTLER SECURES GRANT FOR MOMMY’S LIGHT

Exton, PA – May 3, 2007 – Joan L. Kistler, CLU, ChFC, of Chester Springs, PA, has secured a $5,000 grant from the MDRT Foundation on behalf of Mommy’s Light Lives On Fund®.

Kistler, of Wealth Alliance Co. and a lifetime MDRT member, nominated and endorsed the grant application.  She has been an active supporter of Mommy’s Light for five years, including serving as chairperson of the annual fall fundraising event, and was named one of the organization’s “Volunteers of the Year” in 2006.

Founded in 1997, Mommy’s Light brings joy and comfort to children and teens whose mothers have died or are terminally ill by helping them keep alive traditions and simple pleasures they shared with their mothers. (www.mommyslight.org)  The MDRT Foundation grant will support the bereavement education program for children coping with the loss of their mothers.

This year, the MDRT Foundation will award more that $1 million in grants to more than 100 charities.  On behalf of the MDRT Foundation, Kistler presented this grant to Mommy’s Light on April 28, 2007 at the Third Annual Mommy’s Light 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run.

The MDRT Foundation was created in 1959 to provide MDRT members with a means to give back to their communities. Since its inception, the Foundation has donated $17.6 million in 63 countries around the world and all 50 U.S. states.  The majority of these funds were raised by MDRT members from MDRT members.

The MDRT Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Million Dollar Round Table, The Premier Association of Financial Professionals.  MDRT is an international, independent association of more that 35,000, or less than 1 percent, of the world’s best life insurance and financial services professionals from 476 companies and 76 nations and territories.

MDRT members demonstrate exceptional product knowledge, strict ethical conduct and outstanding client service. MDRT membership is recognized internationally as the standard of sales excellence in the life insurance and financial services business.

There are more than 20,000 children eligible for Mommy’s Light’s direct services in the Delaware Valley, and more than 626,000 maternally bereaved children under the age of 18 in the United States, with 125,000 being added each year.  Mommy’s Light offers bereavement education materials nationwide, including a groundbreaking educational DVD and informative pamphlets, to surviving family members, caregivers, counselors and teachers to help them better understand a child’s bereavement process.  For more information, to make a donation or volunteer, visit the website at www.mommyslight.org or call 610-725-9790.
