2007 marks the twelfth year that Eagles players have participated in off-season basketball games as fundraisers for local schools and organizations.  “This is community relations at its best,” said Derek Boyko, the Eagles’ director of football media services, who coordinates the games.  “The players go out and interact with fans for a good cause, and also have a lot of fun.”

Downingtown High West players from the Boys Team include Brian Grashof and Tom Sharkey, grade 11; Tim Flecken, Ryan Kendra, TJ McGrath and Bryan Milito, grade 10; and Coaches Damien Blair and Dave Krakower.  The Girls Team will be represented by Laura Carson, grade 12; Laura Foti and Jennie Starner, grade 11; Jessica Beswick, Amanda Donia and Isabel Scott, grade 10; and Coaches Dave Johnson and Greta Neff.

Headquartered in Exton, Pennsylvania, Mommy’s Light provides free resources nationally and directly serves children between the ages of 3 and 18 throughout the greater Philadelphia area.  There are more than 626,000 maternally bereaved children in the United States, including 20,000 eligible children in the Delaware Valley.
