EAGLES FLY IN PHILLY, BUT CAN THEY DUNK IN DOWNINGTOWN?
NFL Stars Play High School Basketball Standouts to
Benefit Mommy’s Light Lives On Fund®
Downingtown, PA – May 2, 2007 – Six Philadelphia Eagles
players will take on members of the Downingtown High
West Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball Teams in a
Charity Basketball Game to benefit Mommy’s Light Lives
On Fund® on Wednesday, May 16 at the Downingtown
High School West Gymnasium, 445 Manor Avenue,
Downingtown, PA 19335.
The game starts at 7:00 p.m.
and will be followed by a 30-minute autograph session
with the Eagles players. Tickets are $15 each or $135
for 10. Ticket holders also will be entered in a raffle
in which two winners each will receive 4 passes to a
taping of MTV’s “Total Request Live” in New York City.

Founded in 1997, Mommy’s Light brings joy and comfort to
children and teens whose mothers have died or are
terminally ill by helping them keep alive traditions and
simple pleasures they shared with their mothers.
2007 marks
the twelfth year that Eagles players have participated
in off-season basketball games as fundraisers for local
schools and organizations. “This is community relations
at its best,” said Derek Boyko, the Eagles’ director of
football media services, who coordinates the games.
“The players go out and interact with fans for a good
cause, and also have a lot of fun.”
Downingtown High West players from the Boys Team include
Brian Grashof and Tom Sharkey, grade 11; Tim Flecken,
Ryan Kendra, TJ McGrath and Bryan Milito, grade 10; and
Coaches Damien Blair and Dave Krakower. The Girls Team
will be represented by Laura Carson, grade 12; Laura
Foti and Jennie Starner, grade 11; Jessica Beswick,
Amanda Donia and Isabel Scott, grade 10; and Coaches
Dave Johnson and Greta Neff.
