TAMMY REID, JENNAPHR FREDERICK AND DOWNINGTOWN COMMUNITY LEAD THE RACE TO RAISING MORE THAN $23,000 FOR MOMMY’S LIGHT

Downingtown, PA – May 18, 2005 – Tammy Reid, wife of Eagles’ Head Coach Andy Reid, and Fox 29’s Jennaphr Frederick rode in a Pennmark Auto Mercedes Benz pace car on April 30 to lead more than 225 runners and walkers in the Mommy’s Light 5K Race and 1 Mile Walk Sponsored by Kensey Nash. Matt Sandercock, 36, and Deirdre Brill, 27, respectively, were the top overall male and female winners. Sponsors, runners, walkers and tot trot participants helped raise more than $23,000 for Mommy’s Light, a Delaware Valley - based non-profit organization that brings joy and comfort to children and teens whose mothers are in life-threatening situations or are deceased. “Tammy Reid and Jennaphr Frederick were wonderful Grand Marshals,” said Hillary Delone, Race Founder and Downingtown, PA resident. “This was a terrific community event. The Downingtown East High School Cheerleaders and Boy Scout Troop #79 did a fantastic job of cheering on all the race participants. The 5th Grade Class at Shamona Creek Elementary School and St. Norbert CYO did a phenomenal job of raising more than $2,500 by walking in the race!”

When Hillary DeLone was diagnosed with stage-two breast cancer in January 2004, she knew she was in for the fight of her life. With the support of her loving husband and children, she is cancer free. Determined to help other families that may not have been as fortunate, she decided to put her energy into organizing the 5K run/walk for Mommy’s Light. Currently, Mommy's Light's free services are available to more than 20,000 maternally bereaved children and teens living in southeastern PA, parts of southern NJ and northern DE.
